Purifying the Soul

It's not always easy to figure out how to purify the one's soul. The best way to do it, is to sing a song. Any spiritual song can be used. You can even hum a melody with out words.

If you don;t like to sing, listen to a CD or MP3 of sacred music for a while with your eyes closed. Imagine this music washing over and purifying your soul.

Another profound way to purify the soul is to meditate on the words of the Shema, the best-known Jewish/Hebrew prayer Shema Yisrael.

"Hear O Israel, the Creator Your God, the Creator is One."

שמע ישראל יי אלוהינו יי אחד

The Shema is an affirmation of faith. It both expresses our love for the creator, and also serves as an ode to the divinity of the soul. It brings us into consciousness of the Oneness of God, opening our awareness that Creator is within and without.

The following is an exercise to help you purify your soul.

Exercise
Take a shower and wash yourself thoroughly. While you are standing under the running water, visualize yourself being purified by divine energy.

Be fully aware of what you are doing. Allow The Light to flow over you and into you. Now, Meditate on this affirmation: we are the hands, the feet, and mind of the Creator. There is health and peace and joy where we are.
When you leave the shower say, "Haleluya," or "Praise God." Spend a moment in silence and then say "Ki Tov!" "All is Good!"
